Your contribution can help artisans who are trying to create sustainability in their lives. Women in Uganda are working hard to rise out of poverty. Strife and war have been a part of their entire lives and now some women are finally beginning to find some stability and hope out of poverty.
There is never enough money when you need to provide clothing for school, school fees and uniforms (mandatory in Uganda) so that your child can go to school. The schools all require additional fees to attend and the students have to pay for their materials. On top of this, in a country where malaria and AIDS is rampart, many parents have medical expenses for themselves and their children, all without insurance of any kind. These children also need better nourishment through their food than they have started their little lives with. You can help with all of this. You can adopt a boy or girl or you and we will guide your efforts.
On top of this, we have a non-profit fund through Prescott College, Arizona, and it is called the Fair Trade Artisans Housing Fund. In 2011 we will be building an artisan family a new home. The mud brick house will have a steel roof, with a front door and windows, all new to the family that lives in one room of someone else’s.
You can also mail a donation to one of the two offices:
